Suspension of Scouting
Posted on 16 March 2020
Please read the latest update relating to the developing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Earlier today, the Prime Minister advised that the UK should now avoid all non-essential travel and contact with others.
As a result of this, Tim Kidd (UK Chief Scout) has given the guidance that “all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events must be suspended from tomorrow, Tuesday 17th March 2020“
This suspension has been put in place nationally and applies to all young people and adults. The suspension will be put in place until further notice.
Our member’s safety remains our number one priority and is always at the heart of our decision making.
Chelmsford Scouts recognise how important Scouting is to all of our members and the upset that this may bring, however, we hope you appreciate and support this difficult decision.
We ask that you continue to follow national guidance and check the Government’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage frequently.
Did you know that there is so many Scouting activities which you can work on at home? We are working hard to get some resources available for you and will share these over the coming days and weeks.
Thank you for your support at this difficult time.
